Pigmy: Describe how your pilot name came to be your pilot name.
Drakona: When I was a kid, I went by the name "Cool Cat", and then when I restarted the campaign, I wanted to use a new name. In high school, I thought, 'this name is going to stick with me forever', so I mixed the words Dragon and Drak, and added the 'a' at the end to make it more feminine. It's a made up word meaning "Fierce Dragon Lady". LOL
Pigmy: What drew you to the Descent Rangers in the first place, and who recommended you, if applicable?
Drakona: I'm a late joiner to the Rangers. I knew they existed, but I was a part of other Descent groups, namely TNT, and UF. I was drawn to them in June 2013, when they were the only Descent community left.
Jediluke is the one who recommended me. He told me that there were still Descent players out there and I was like "Whaaat", so I joined.
Pigmy: How long have you been playing Descent for?
Drakona: Oh gosh, let me add that up. 17 and a half years. I got it for my 13th birthday, and I played the single player campaign for two years before I ever got Kali.
Pigmy: What other kinds of games are you interested in?
Drakona: My perennial favorites are StarCraft, Nethack and Descent. But I play just about anything. Minecraft as well could be a perennial favorite but it's only been around a few years.
Pigmy: What hobbies interest you outside of Descent?
Drakona: I like programming, I play piano, I did origami. I also like to argue with people on the internet. I like reading (sci-fi) and playing Dungeons and Dragons.
Pigmy: Would you recommend Descent to other people and would you recommend the Rangers to other people?
Drakona: WOULD I RECOMMEND DESCENT TO ANYONE ELSE?! Of course I would. If you have piloting in your blood and like to fly, then this game is for you. I would also recommend the Rangers. They are an unusually nice group of people for a gaming community.
