Pigmy: Describe how your pilot name came to be your pilot name
Enzo03: That is an interesting question. Many years ago when I was still in middle school, I was obsesssed with a game called Mech Warrior 2. One of the cheats in that game was in Skirmish mode, and you can enter your name as 'enzo'. If you do, it gives you access to three new mechs, and I really liked that. Now every time the internet asks me to use an alias, I use Enzo. As for the '03', that comes from the last 2 numbers of my school account number when I was in grade school.
Pigmy: What drew you to the Descent Rangers in the first place, and who recommended you, if applicable?
Enzo03: I don’t remember who recommended that I join the Rangers off the top of my head. But basically, 7 years ago I was looking for a place to play Descent online. At the time, we were all playing on Kali. The Rangers seemed to be a lot nicer than the people in the Descent channel on Kali. They’d call me “noob” among other names. The Rangers was a place I could play without being called those names. I did end up taking a break for some time. As far as coming back, I had watched a video
Skunk put up, and I thought I should get back into this. I came back and here I am today.
Pigmy: How long have you been playing Descent for?
Enzo03: Let’s see. Well, I havent been playing it since D1 or D2 was new, like most people here have. In fact, the first Descent game I played was Descent 3. I started playing it was when that game was new, so like in 2000 or so. As far as D1 and D2 go, I’ve been playing those since 2004.
Pigmy: What other kinds of games are you interested in?
Enzo03: I’m into first person shooters in general. Racing games as well interest me, Sim racing, arcade racing, it doesn’t matter. Sandbox games such as Minecraft and GTA. Sometimes I’ll play various role playing games. When I would take a hiatus from Descent, I’d be playing MMORPGs. I like Flight Simulators. You can thank Descent for my playing flight sims and FPS’s. Also Stealth Action such as Splinter Cell and Hitman.
Pigmy: What hobbies interest you outside of gaming?
Enzo03: Honestly, there’s not terribly much. That might be a bad thing to say. Every now and then, I’ll dabble in putting together plastic model kits of cars and airplanes. I do have a couple models of the USS Enterprise from the original Star Trek series. I also love rubix cubes. I’ve solved a rubix cube in less than a minute.
Pigmy: Would you recommend Descent to other people and would you recommend the Rangers to other people?
Enzo03: Absolutely, but the problem is getting them to listen. I’m not the most convincing person at the very least. I do often play Descent in public, and if someone asks, I’ll tell them. But usually when I tell them about it, it doesn’t go farther than them asking what it is, and why is it like Doom.
