Rules

This is an official Descent 2 Team Anarchy tournament to take place during the third week of July (15th–21st). As it is a tournament between squads, there are no sign-ups for the tournament; any tournament-eligible member can automatically take part.

During the course of the tournament, each squad can play each other squad once. Members taking part in a game are to decide, before playing, whether the game will count toward the tournament. Any games played for the tournament must be reported to the tournament organizer (Sirius) instead of through the Rangers website. Bonus KPs and GPs will be awarded to participating members at the end of the tournament instead, according to standard tournament rules.

Each game may have any number of players that allows it to qualify as a team game (2v2, 3v3, or 4v4). Games are scored on a points system, with the squad with the highest point total at the end of the tournament being the winner. Points are awarded as follows:
Winning team: 2 points
Losing team: 1 point
3v3: 1 bonus point for both teams
4v4: 2 bonus points for both teams (not cumulative with 3v3)
If a pair of squads is unable to complete their match for the tournament, no points will be awarded for that game.

All games are to be played in Descent 2. Levels will be chosen from the following list:

  • Hash Bash
  • Kaotix III
  • Keg Party 2
  • Laserdeath
  • The Muses Second Half, level 5

When arranging a match, each squad may choose to "vote out" up to two levels from consideration. The level to be played will then be chosen from the remaining levels by the members involved in the game.

The tournament will run from midnight (MDT) on July 15th until midnight (MDT) on July 21st. Matches must be completed within this window to count towards the tournament.

A Medal of Pride will be awarded to the winning squad. Medals of Honor will be awarded to any members that played for the first-placed squad during the tournament, with Medals of Valor awarded to any members that played for the second-placed squad. In the event of ties for first or second place, tie-breaker matches will be played between the tied squads to determine final placement. Scheduling of tie-breakers will be determined between squads with the tournament organizer's approval should the need for them eventuate.
