Details.
Free schedule and opponent selection - you can play any other team any number of times.
No restrictions based on ace ratings, so you can team up with any squadmates.
Please consider our new members when creating teams. I know it's nice to team up with strongest or coolest people you know, but we are quite large group with old Ranger motto : 'No pilot left behind'. I'm hoping that squad leaders can help with that yet I'm asking each of you to keep that in mind as well. - Let's make it good fun for as many as possible.

You can be a member of 1 particular team only for entire event.
In case of drop outs replacement pilot may be allowed if he/she isn't a member of the other team.
Sign up is open until end of the tournament (23rd December) so teams are free to join the event anytime, but keep in mind that any pilot who did team up once (and played at least 1 tourney game) and resigned is not allowed to join again either with his previous or new team.
Pilot transfers between same squad teams are allowed during the event under 1 condition:
- transferred pilot didn't play any tournament games before the transfer.
All team changes must be approved by the event sponsor (changes made to main event table) before altered team could play event matches.

Multiple teams from each squad are welcomed.
Game screenshots are not required but welcomed (attach them to game report).
All teams are free to arrange games any day within tournament period, however suggested game meetings (with higher chance to find opponent available) would be:
Friday (Night Frenzy hours)
4pm - 9pm PST
7pm -12pm EST
0:00 - 5:00 GMT
Sunday
1pm - 7pm PST
5pm - 10pm EST
21:00 - 3:00 GMT

Scoring
  • ELO based system:
    - each team starts the tournament with 1000 (TP) Tourney points
    - each game outcome modifies current score for each team (according to formula*)
  • Additional bonuses:
    - as an addition each team receives 15 (BP) Bonus points after the game just for playing it.
    - for facing all other teams (at least once each) additional 15 (BP) Bonus points is awarded.
    - at the end of the tournament Tourney points (TP) and Bonus points (BP) are summed up to get final result for the team to determine final placements.
*formula for scoring tournament games (it may change before tournament)
symbols:
TPc - Current Tourney points of the team (before the game)
TPn - New Tourney points of the team calculated after the game (used as TPc for next tournament game for that team)
WL - win/loss - it is 0 for loss, 1 for win
BP - bonus points of the team.

after the game each team points are calculated as follows:
Code: Select all
TPn = round(TPc + 30 * ( WL - ( 10^(TPc/500) / (10^(TPc/500) + 10^(TPc(of other team)/500)))))
BP = BP +15

Example:
Two teams with 1000 TPc playing.
Team A wins.
Scores after:
Team A - 1015 TP , 15 BP
Team B - 985 TP , 15 BP
In the next game Team A (1015 TP) plays Team B again (985 TP)
Team A wins.
Scores after:
Team A - 1029 , 30 BP
Team B - 971 , 30 BP
If tourney ends without any more games
Team A total score is - 1059
Team B total score is - 1001

As you can see winning with stronger opponent (with higher TP) boosts up your score more than winning against team with much lower TP.
Additional Bonus points reward (BP) is provided to encourage activity, thanks to that it is possible (in theory) take high position at the end of the tournament even if the team loses most of it's games.

Reminder:
Denying a game while both teams are present in purpose may be considered as unsportsmanlike behaviour resulting in penalties (Code of Conduct), however in some cases might be allowed (for ex.multiple attempts of slamming weaker team) - please use common sense and remember - Good sportsmanship is expected at all times.
In order to receive Medal of Participation each pilot has to be a member of active team at the moment of Tournament close. The team must also have at least 1 tournament game played.
Teams without any games played are not receiving any points, medals and bonuses, members of such teams receive -1 KP penalty each.
