Saving...please wait... Post-Season 44 Duel TournamentThis is a Descent 2 1v1 anarchy double elimination tournament. Each player competes with another player on a predetermined level to a kill limit of 20. When 20 is hit, that player must have a lead of two kills. This means if the score is 20 to 18, the player with 20 will win. However, if the score is 20 to 19, the game will continue until one of the players has two kills more than the opponent, at which point the player with more kills is the winner. Unlike our previous tournaments, this will be a single elimination tournament. The winner of the tournament will receive a Medal of Victory, and all participants will receive a Medal of Participation.
Basics
Level Nominations: Closed. RequirementsThese rules apply to the final stats of the season. You may sign up for the tournament if you do not meet these qualifications yet, but if by the end of the season you still don't have sufficient Game Points or Ranking, you will be removed from the bracket (except for special circumstances and exceptions, see below).
Game SpecificsAll of these rules are the default rules to be used during a match. However, if both players of the match agree to alter any Game Specific rules, they may do so. Any modifications of the Game Specific rules will only apply to the match in question and will not carry on to any subsequent matches.
MatchesAll matches will be played on a predetermined level, which can be located on the bracket chart at the top of the round. All players in a round will play on the same level. Finals and Grand Finals are best two out of three (you must win two matches to win the round). The first match level is predetermined and will be listed at the top of the bracket chart. Upon completion of the first match the loser will pick the next level to be played from the neutral levels (counterpicks) list. If the game is to go on to the third and final match of the round, the player that lost the second round will pick the next level to play from the list of neutral levels (counterpicks). The only restriction to this is that a player cannot pick the level on which they have already won in this round. They can, however, pick the level on which they have lost. Note that this only applies to this round/step of the bracket. The next step of the bracket will reset the levels that have been won and lost on and this method will repeat. Neutral Levels (Counterpicks): TBD
SeedingSeeding will be broken into two categories, Primary Seed and Secondary Seed. Primary Seed will be seeded by pilot efficiency percent, descending, for all pilots above 50 Game Points for the season. All pilots between 15 and 49 Game Points will be seeded by total Game Points, descending, in a seperate list below the Primary Seed. Anyone that does not meet the 15 Game Point minimum will be removed from the participant list and will not be allowed to compete in the tournament. SchedulingEach step of the bracket will be scheduled to play on Saturday. This means Step 1 (the first match) must be complete by 8 February 2014; Step 2 must be complete by 15 February 2014; and so on.
If you have already completed your step of the bracket with time to spare, you may attempt to play your next match before the following Saturday. If time allows, or one of the two players cannot be present that Saturday, it is recommended you plan to play during the week leading up to that Saturday.
We understand that time is a scarce resource, so we are willing to try to work things out so that all matches can be played, and to try to avoid as many disqualifications as possible. For this reason the following situations are highly recommended to be done by all players.
Game VersionThe version to be played is D2X-Rebirth 0.58.1. However since we have such a diverse community with many game versions if both players of a match agree, the game version to be played may be changed to that which they decide (community mods, Rebirth, official release, D2X-XL, etc). If a consensus is not made, 58.1 will be mandatory*. The only exception to this is if one or both players decide that they do not believe 58.1 is stable enough, 57.3 will be the enforced version. If there are any misunderstandings, speak with a tournament official or tournament sponsor. --All statistics of the tournament will be recorded and documented for public viewing on and the Rangers Facebook group. All of the documents regarding the tournament (brackets, level list, signup list, final outcome, and post-match screenshots) will be publicly available on the Rangers Dropbox immediately after the end of the tournament.
