Official Post-Season 41 Duel Tournament
5/1/2013 through 6/27/2013
Description:
- This is a Descent 2 1v1 anarchy double elimination tournament. Each player competes with another player on a predetermined
level to a kill limit of 20. When 20 is hit, that player must have a lead of two kills. This means if the score is 20 to 18,
the player with 20 will win. However, if the score is 20 to 19, the game will continue until one of the players has two kills
more than the opponent, at which point the player with more kills is the winner. Players that lose for the first time will be
sent to the loser's bracket, where they will have a second chance to make their way to the finals. Once a player loses twice,
they are out of the tournament. The winner of the tournament will receive a Medal of Victory, and all participants will
receive a Medal of Participation.

-Grand Finals (and Super Grand Finals, if applicable) are best two out of three (you must win two matches to win the round).
-Grand Finals (and Super Grand Finals, if applicable) map selection will work as follows:
The first level will be randomly chosen out of Neptune, Vamped, and Athena.
The loser of the first match will be able to select the next level that is played.
The loser of the second match (if applicable) will be able to select the final level that is played.
Dave's Stupid Rule: A player that has already won on a level cannot counter-pick that level later in the round.
-Scheduling will work as follows:
The first step of the bracket must be completed by May 3rd.
The second step of the bracket must be completed by May 5th.
The third step of the bracket must be completed by May 6th.

The fifth and sixth (if applicable) step of the bracket must be completed by May 8th.
We understand that time is a scarce resource, so we are willing to try to work things out so that all matches can be played,
and to try to avoid as many disqualifications as possible. For this reason the following situations are highly recommended
to be done by all players:
All players should communicate with their opponent to decide upon a time to play their match.
If two players cannot agree upon or find a mutual time in which to play the match, they may attempt the following, in this order:
-Contact the players in your bracket and bracket step prior to their games (preferably prior to when the two players
agree upon their match time) to see if you can switch opponents for a more preferable outcome. Note, however, that
you may only switch with members of your bracket. A player in Winner's Bracket cannot switch opponents with someone
in Loser's Bracket, and vice versa.
-Contact the Tournament Directors and discuss what times you are available to play your match and why you can't come
to an agreement on a time with your opponent. If the Tournament Directors cannot find a position for you to play in,
they may grant an extension if and only if consent to postpone the next two matches (by winner's next opponent and
loser's next opponent) is acheived. Note, however, this is a last resort, and is most likely not to occur.
-If you feel the Tournament Directors have not done everything in their power to achieve an agreement to play your
match before or immediately after the next bracket has begun, you may contact the Tournament Sponsors and discuss with
them why you feel the Tournament Directors have neglected your situation. If the Tournament Directors come to a
decision in which not enough was done about the situation as could have been, you will be given a bye for the round
and will automatically be moved to the next step of the bracket.
All statistics of the tournament will be recorded and documented for public viewing on www.descentrangers.com and the Rangers
Facebook group. All of the documents regarding the tournament (brackets, level list, signup list, final outcome, and post-match
screenshots) will be publically available on the Rangers Dropbox immediately after the end of the tournament.
